Mission & Momentum with Dr. Bruyan Renfro

Dear EICC Community,

One of our own is stepping into a presidency. Dr. Jeremy Pickard has accepted the position of President at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College and will assume the role on July 1.

Jeremy will continue serving in his current role with us through June. During this time, he will remain fully engaged in leading through the spring semester, advancing key priorities, and preparing for a thoughtful and thorough transition of his work.

Jeremy’s leadership journey, shaped and strengthened here at EICC, has positioned him well for this opportunity. He has grown with EICC, first serving as a faculty member, then as a grants program director, a dean, and now as Vice Chancellor. At every step, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to students, academic excellence, and the future of career and technical education.

His strong advocacy for CTE programs, unwavering focus on academic quality, and ability to foster meaningful partnerships across K–12, business, and community stakeholders have distinguished his leadership. Those strengths, developed and refined during his time at EICC, have prepared him to assume the SWTC presidency with confidence and purpose.

Jeremy’s leadership in developing the Career Advancement Centers and launching and expanding our Career Academies has left a lasting mark on this college. These initiatives reflect his belief in access, opportunity, and workforce alignment. The centers and the academies will continue to benefit students and our communities for years to come.

I am personally grateful for Jeremy’s partnership and his steady leadership. Please join me in celebrating his continued growth as a leader and in wishing him and his family every success in this next chapter.

Over the next month, I will be visiting with the academic deans, faculty leadership, and the Senior Leadership Team to determine next steps. Those plans will be communicated later this spring.

Transitions like this highlight the strength of our institution and the depth of leadership across EICC. We will move forward with clarity, continuity, and a continued commitment to the students and communities we serve. Thank you for the work you do each day to keep that momentum strong.

Sincerely,

Bryan Renfro, PhD
