Bio
Educational Background:
Associate’s Degree from Scott Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Ambrose
University in Education.
Why Community College?:
The community college has so much to offer. It’s very affordable and an excellent
place to start if someone is uncertain what direction they want to go, or are undecided
on a major. There are small class sizes where students can get a great deal of individual
help, as well as offering students, staff and faculty opportunities to build a strong
rapport with one another.
The best thing about working with students:
I love to meet with students and put their minds at ease about attending college.
The process can seem difficult and overwhelming. Hopefully I can assist in making
the process a whole lot simpler and less stressful for new students.
Every student I meet has a unique story about their reasons for attending college.
I am thrilled that I get to play a small role in helping people meet their academic
goals and change their lives for the better.
I wholeheartedly believe in education and enjoy helping people take this positive
step in their lives.
Other random information:
After graduating from St. Ambrose University I taught, worked for the state of Iowa
and have also served different roles in the social services field. I thoroughly enjoy
helping others and was a non-traditional student myself. I am proud to be a former
SCC graduate and look forward to helping adults find a program that is right for them!
In my free time I enjoy walking my dog, kickboxing class, reading, going to concerts, volunteering and watching "Friends" re-runs. I love the fall season and football, and also enjoy supporting our local teams; the Quad City Mallards and the River Bandits.
