Admissions
Clinton Community College
Educational Background:
AA from Clinton Community College and a BA from the University of Iowa in Communication
Studies.
Why Community College?
I know from experience that community college provides the opportunity for all people
to enrich their lives through learning. I want people to know that when I talk about
community college being accessible, affordable and a reality that it is the truth.
I was a Paul B. Sharar Foundation Scholarship recipient when I attended Clinton Community College and my experience was enveloped by people who wanted to see me succeed.
I am proud to be able to work with such a dedicated team of professionals that are here every day to help students find their path in life. Attending community college changed my life. I believe it can change yours.
The best thing about working with students:
It is my desire to help students recognize the potential in themselves. I value the
differences in each individual student and I learn so much from our interactions.
Every life has a story.
Other random information:
After graduating from the University of Iowa, I served in Student Life and as the
Director of Career Services at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. From there
I served as the Job Location Developer at California State University, San Bernardino
in San Bernardino, California. Finally, before coming back home, I served as the Coordinator
of Student Activities and as the Director of Student Life at Front Range Community
College in Boulder County, Colorado.
Serving students is my passion. I absolutely love providing opportunities for students to recognize that greater success comes from getting involved in your campus and in your community.
I cheer for Iowa Hawkeyes football, love spending time watching sports with friends and enjoy listening to live music. I adore my family and if I’m on vacation you’ll probably find me in Nashville.
Muscatine Community College
Educational Background:
Associate's Degree from Muscatine Community College in Liberal Arts.
Why Community College?
Community college offers the same great education at a fraction of the cost. Additionally,
with smaller campuses, students, staff and faculty are able to build genuine relationships
that last a lifetime.
The best thing about working with students:
Collectively working as a team to serve each individual student's needs on their journey
to a successful future. I also enjoy watching the growth of every student who walks
through our doors between the time of enrollment and graduation. Learning more about
every student and their own unique story makes the admissions process fun and entertaining!
Other random information:
I love to spend my free time outside walking, biking and kayaking or inside watching
Hawkeye sports and testing new recipes! I also love to travel and have visited 27
states (Hawaii and Colorado being my favorites)!
Before serving as the Admissions Coordinator of MCC, I was a student, who, with the support of staff and faculty, built my own success story. I am now excited to share with prospective students the importance of having an active role on campus which can truly be life changing!
Scott Community College
Educational Background:
Associates Degree from Scott Community College and a Bachelors Degree from Western Illinois University (QC) in Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Why Community College?
The affordability, convenience, quality, class size and strong support system are just a few reasons why I chose Scott Community College. From my experience I can express that the dedicated faculty and staff truly care about the future and success of the students.
Best things about working with students:
When I meet with students I can feel their excitement and energy about attending college and I am happy to be a part of that. I also find it rewarding to help students meet and exceed their academic goals.
Other information about me:
After graduating from Western Illinois University (QC) I worked as a Staffing Coordinator
in Davenport. I helped people develop their skills, find employment and recruit for
employers. I am proud to be a Scott Community College employee and to serve the students
in the Quad Cities.
In my free time I love to cruise around on my bike (complete with a basket and bell),
play volleyball and eat fresh vegetables from my garden. Happy Joes Pizza and Whiteys
Ice Cream are some of my favorites. I also enjoy being with my family and friends.
Adult Programs
Educational Background:
Associate’s Degree from Scott Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Ambrose University in Education.
Why Community College?
The community college has so much to offer. It’s very affordable and an excellent place to start if someone is uncertain what direction they want to go, or are undecided on a major. There are small class sizes where students can get a great deal of individual help, as well as offering students, staff and faculty opportunities to build a strong rapport with one another.
The best thing about working with students:
I love to meet with students and put their minds at ease about attending college. The process can seem difficult and overwhelming. Hopefully I can assist in making the process a whole lot simpler and less stressful for new students.
Every student I meet has a unique story about their reasons for attending college. I am thrilled that I get to play a small role in helping people meet their academic goals and change their lives for the better.
I wholeheartedly believe in education and enjoy helping people take this positive step in their lives.
Other random information:
After graduating from St. Ambrose University I taught, worked for the state of Iowa and have also served different roles in the social services field. I thoroughly enjoy helping others and was a non-traditional student myself. I am proud to be a former SCC graduate and look forward to helping adults find a program that is right for them!
In my free time I enjoy walking my dog, kickboxing class, reading, going to concerts, volunteering and watching "Friends" re-runs. I love the fall season and football, and also enjoy supporting our local teams; the Quad City Mallards and the River Bandits.
When you enroll with us, you do more than go to college. You join a community. We're excited to have you with us. Enjoy a high-quality education, expert instructors, affordable tuition, and small class sizes. It’s free to apply, and you can do so online right now.
