Accreditation
Higher Learning Commission Accreditation
We stay true to our vision, which is “Changing Lives and Building Communities,” by offering outstanding programs that fulfill the needs of our communities. These programs — approved by the Iowa Department of Education — are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, meaning they meet or exceed their standards. Our district was first approved by the 19-state commission in 1983.
Individual programs are accredited by agencies within their fields.
Learn More About HLC Accreditation
EICC is accredited by the Iowa Department of Education, which also approves all of its academic programs. A comprehensive visit by the Iowa Department of Education was completed in the 2019-2020 academic year. An interim visit is scheduled for 2024-2025.
National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP)
The College Connections program is accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP). NACEP accreditation ensures college courses taught by high school teachers are as rigorous as the corresponding courses offered on college campuses. NACEP accreditation helps EICC programs adhere to the highest standards so that students experience a seamless transition to college. College Connections instructors benefit from ongoing professional development through interactions with their faculty liaisons. Additional information regarding NACEP accreditation guidelines, program standards and more can be found at nacep.org.
Individual Program Accreditations

HLC accreditation means our programs meet or exceed the standards for academic excellence set for every public and private college in a 19-state region. The colleges are approved by the Iowa Department of Education and the Board of Regents. Individual programs are accredited by associations within their respective fields.
