This is a list of potential work-study positions, and some positions may have already been filled. Employment is not guaranteed. Please email the contact person to inquire. 

All positions pay $11 per hour.

Lead campus tours, assist Admissions Coordinator with groups, high school visits, and other admissions related activities.

Filing/organizing materials and equipment. Potentially work with plants in the MCC greenhouse. Utilize excel databases. Other duties as assigned.

Maintain/supervise Media Production Lab through weekly office hours and project development. Produce several media projects each semester as assigned. Serve as AV and Lighting Tech for MCC Theatre/Film projects in the Little Theatre.

General Service assistant – filing/copying documents. Typing/data entry, answering phone. Possible office coverage. Other duties as assigned.

Tutor students in a variety of subjects. Complete tutor training and weekly assignments set by the supervisor. Complete office tasks and record keeping. Gather subject-based resources for Success Center. Schedule tutoring appointments for students.

Get kids excited about reading! With direction from the classroom teacher you will help increase reading skills by planning activities focused on reading, letter-sound relationships, writing, and comprehension for kids in K-3rd grades.

The Muscatine YWCA is seeking students interested in youth girls basketball game refereeing and also kindergarten/1st grade teams refereeing. If basketball is not something that interests you, there are other opportunities with different youth programs.

Various opportunities await you helping those in need in our community. We have an on-going need in the following areas: Reading to children/listening and coaching as a child reads/math assistance/playing games with small groups of children/cataloging new books/laminating & cutting out activity resources.

The MCC Silver & Blue Volunteer Program serves people facing challenges in our community. Be a paid student volunteer, complete 80 hours of public service over the course of an academic year, and earn the Silver/Blue Cord Award. The MCC Silver & Blue program is an extension of the United Way of Muscatine’s Volunteer Solutions Program.
