What You Learn in Cardiac Sonography
Our program is in-depth and hands-on. Learn how to operate the equipment, recognize normal anatomy and pathological processes, and offer patient care and instructions. Complete four clinical rotations and advance your scanning techniques. Graduate, then take the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers certification exam.
What Can I Do as a Cardiac Sonographer?
You are an essential member of the healthcare team and your work makes an impact on the lives and health of patients. You explain the procedure and answer questions. You obtain and review diagnostic images and provide a summary to physicians. Work in hospitals, clinics, imaging centers, medical, and diagnostic labs. If this is the career for you, don't wait. Our two-year, full-time program admits a limited number of students each year. Classroom instruction is coupled with supervised clinical rotations at local hospitals and clinics. Here's more details:
You must hold an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in a health-related field involving direct patient care and a 12-month clinical component, or bachelor’s degree or higher in any field, to apply.
EICC's Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care, and Nursing programs are examples that fit these requirements.
