Comanchette McBee Bradley Kinsinger Shelley Barkley
Comanchette McBee, M.Ed.
McBee brings 14 years of community college experience across faculty and administrative
roles, giving her a strong understanding of academic operations, accreditation, strategic
planning, and institutional effectiveness.
She currently serves as dean of effectiveness, social sciences, communication, and business at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs. The college has more than 8,700 students and offers more than 80 academic programs across eight pathways.
Prior to her current position, McBee served Iowa Western in a series of roles, including dean of institutional effectiveness and communication, dean of institutional effectiveness, English department chair, and assistant professor.
Before joining Iowa Western, McBee was an adjunct instructor for William Penn University, Grand View University, and Des Moines Area Community College.
She holds two master’s degree and is completing a doctorate in community college leadership at Iowa State University.

Bradley Kinsinger, M.S.
Kinsinger brings 15 years of community college experience in career and technical
education, giving him a practical understanding of program quality, curriculum development,
accreditation, academic planning, and workforce alignment.
He currently serves as dean of agricultural sciences and hospitality arts at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In this role, he oversees career and technical education programs and supports accreditation, curriculum, and workforce-focused initiatives.
Kirkwood serves more than 17,000 students annually and offers over 140 degrees and programs.
Before joining Kirkwood, Kinsinger served as director of the Global Agriculture Learning Center at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa. He founded the center and developed and delivered curriculum. He began his community college career at Hawkeye, serving as an instructor and later as assistant professor of agriculture business and precision agriculture.
Kinsinger is a proud community college graduate, holds a master’s degree and is completing a doctorate in postsecondary education at the University of Northern Iowa.

Shelley Barkley, Ed.D.
Barkley brings 14 years of community college leadership experience across academic
and student affairs, giving her a broad view of how instruction, student services,
accreditation, transfer pathways, and dual credit work together to support student
success.
She currently serves as vice president of academic and student affairs at John Wood Community College in Quincy, Illinois. In this role, she oversees teaching, learning, instructional services, and student-centered services.
John Wood enrolls approximately 1,900 students across six campuses and offers more than 75 degrees, certificates, and workforce development programs.
Before joining John Wood, Barkley spent seven years at Sauk Valley Community College, where she served as dean of general education, dual credit, and transfer programs; assistant dean of general education, dual credit, and transfer programs; and assistant professor of psychology and sociology.
Barkley has a doctorate in community college leadership from Ferris State University in Michigan.
