Fall Festival Scheduled for Oct. 20 at Scott Community College


Looking for something fun to do with the whole family? Scott Community College’s (SCC) Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is hosting its first annual Boothday Festival on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 4 – 7 p.m. at 500 Belmont Rd., in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Located in front of the college’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Center in Parking Lot F, the evening will include an exciting line-up of outdoor activities, games, and live musical entertainment, including:

  • Petting Zoo
  • Face Painting
  • Live Music
  • Pumpkin Painting
  • Musical Bingo
  • Tarot Card Readings
  • And more!

Festival-goers are invited to wear Halloween costumes for the event’s costume contest. Prizes will be awarded to those deemed as ‘best dressed.’

Food and drinks will also be available for purchase. Deanna’s Java Station, a coffee shop based in Clinton, Iowa, will be onsite selling apple cider, hot chocolate, and baked goods. Lugo's Gourmet Popcorn & Lemonade from West Liberty, Iowa, will be selling popcorn and lemonade.

Boothday Festival is free and open to the public.

Members from the SCC PTK Honors Society organized the event with assistance from volunteers and generous donations by community members.

PTK has a presence on almost 1,300 community college campuses in 11 nations and is recognized as the official honor society for two-year colleges by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). More than 3.5 million students have been inducted since 1918, with approximately 250,000 active members in the nation’s community colleges.

In the case of inclement weather, Boothday Festival has a ‘rain-date’ scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 3, from 4 – 7 p.m.
