Two professionals from Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) have been recognized
for their outstanding contributions to career and technical education in Iowa.

Hansen, a leader in student support and career guidance, received the Counseling and
Career Development Professional Award. She was recognized for bridging the gap between
education and employment through strong industry partnerships, credentialing initiatives,
and comprehensive student outreach. Her student-first approach has helped hundreds
of learners pursue meaningful academic and career pathways.

"These award recipients and nominees represent the best of what Career and Technical
Education stands for," said Dr. Tara Troester IACTE Awards Co-Chair. "Their dedication,
creativity, and commitment to student success make CTE not just a program, but a life-changing
pathway for Iowa students."
The ceremony featured handcrafted trophies designed by students and staff from Des
Moines Central Campus, highlighting the creativity and craftsmanship fostered by Iowa’s
CTE programs.
