Eastern Iowa Community Colleges will host a free Financial Literacy Workshop from noon–2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Blong Technology Center, 8500 Hillandale Road in Davenport.
Sponsored by Ascentra Credit Union, the interactive workshop will provide practical information you can use to make more confident financial decisions now and in the future.
Learn how to:
- Understand the difference between banks and credit unions
- Compare common financial products and services
- Read and understand a pay stub
- Track where their money goes
- Understand employee benefits, including health insurance
- Begin planning for retirement with a 401(k)
The workshop is open to EICC students and community members. There is no cost to attend, and lunch will be provided.
This is the first in a new series of financial literacy workshops EICC plans to offer quarterly. Tentative future dates are January 7, April 1, July 21 and October 7, 2027.
