MCC Foundation Scholarships

MCC Foundation awards scholarships for academic performance, community or school involvement, and financial need.

Application Deadlines

  • Fall: March 1
  • Spring: Nov. 1

Specific scholarships may have additional requirements. If so, they are listed below: 

  • Bernice Bowsman Scholarship. Awarded to a student with no restriction as to program of study.
  • Bauer Family Memorial Scholarship. Awarded to journalism majors.
  • John & Mary Blong Achievement Award. Awarded to an Iowa GED graduate with financial need.
  • Bloom Scholarship. Awarded to a student living within Muscatine County and studying a health-related field.
  • Edward S. Burns Family Scholarship. In memory of Bradford "Kelly" Burns. Awarded to a Muscatine County resident who has demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and financial need.
  • "C" Scholarship. Awarded to students with no restrictions as to program of study. Financial need will be considered.
  • Roy J. Carver Scholarship. Preference given to students who are pursuing a career in business.
  • Herman Cohn Scholarship. Awarded to a sophomore planning a business career. Criteria include character, demonstrated leadership qualities, financial need, and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Jerome W. Conway Scholarship. Awarded to a sophomore. Criteria includes character, demonstrated leadership qualities, financial need and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • William F. Cory Scholars. Scholarships awarded to students in the LPN Nursing program and students pursuing careers in education.
  • Lee Estabrook Scholarship. Awarded to a student involved in community service and has financial need.
  • Gaekle Scholarship. Awarded to a math student.
  • Gould Scholarship. Awarded to a worthy sophomore with emphasis on financial need.
  • Harry J. and Nellie B. Griffith Memorial Scholarship. Awarded to Davenport West, Durant, Muscatine, Tipton, West Liberty, and Wilton High school seniors. Application and deadline inquiries should be made to the appropriate high school guidance office. Also some awards for returning MCC sophomores.
  • Ronald H. Hansen Scholarship. Awarded to an economics or business major.
  • Healey Scholarship. Awarded to a freshman for tuition with preference given, but not restricted, to a student interested in foreign languages. The student should have a "B" average from high school and posses strong student habits. Financial need should be considered.
  • Huff Family Scholarship. Awarded to a student with no restrictions as to program of study. Financial need should be considered.
  • Ruth Hazlett Scholarship. Awarded to a sophomore who intends a career in religious ministry, counseling, or health-related professions.
  • Julia Elizabeth Scholarship. Awarded to Muscatine County residents.
  • Kevin Hildebrandt Memorial Scholarship. Awarded to a returning journalism student with a C+ ... B average, with middle income.
  • Jane Hudson Scholarship. Awarded to students in the Veterinary Technician program.
  • Robert M. Kaufmann Memorial Scholarship. Preference given to a freshman with a minimum 3.5 GPA and financial need. Student should possess leadership, good character, and citizenship qualities.
  • Henry F. Kemper Scholarship. Awarded to students pursuing a degree in business, demonstrates leadership qualities, or served in the Armed Forces.
  • William and Mackie Krahl Scholarship. Awarded to students with no restrictions as to program of study. Financial need will be considered.
  • Keith Larson Memorial Scholarship. Awarded to a MCC sophomore with excellent writing skills.
  • Robert Lewis Scholarship. Awarded to student with demonstrated academic ability and financial need. Preference given to pre-law students. Graduating MCC students who meet the criteria and plan to transfer to a four-year college or university may also apply. 
  • Jack Lockridge Memorial Scholarship. Awarded to a history or government major.
  • James F. Loper Scholarship. Awarded to an area student who demonstrates high level achievement in academics and leadership.
  • "M" Scholarship. Awarded to students with no restrictions as to program of study. Financial need will be considered.
  • Mary McGovern Scholarship. Awarded to an elementary education major.
  • Paul & Imogene McCabe Scholarship. Awarded to students with no restrictions as to program of study. Financial need will be considered.
  • Lyle & Betty McCullough Scholarship. Awarded to students with no restrictions as to program of study. Financial need will be considered.
  • MCC Alumni Association Scholarship. Awarded to a son, daughter, husband, wife, or grandchild of an MCC alumni.
  • Messenger Scholarship. Awarded to Muscatine High School seniors. Selection is made by the high school. Application and deadline inquiries should be made to the Muscatine High School guidance office.
  • Muscatine Pollinator Project Scholarship. Awarded to Muscatine County students with a passion for conservancy, the outdoors, horticulture, landscaping, or natural resources.
  • New Hope Scholarship. Awarded to students pursuing a program in the fine arts.
  • Wallace and Ida Mae Nyweide Scholarship. Awarded to students with financial need. Preference given to education majors.
  • Harold Ogilvie Scholarship. Awarded to a sophomore with no restrictions as to program of study.
  • Owen L. & Helen R. Olson Scholarship. Awarded to students who show evidence of financial need and potential for future success. Preference given to students from the immediate area served by Muscatine Community College.
  • Jerry Page Scholarship. For students pursuing a program in an engineering related field.
  • Potter Scholarship. Any student is eligible, but need is emphasized.
  • Rauch Scholarship. Awarded to a student who intends a career working with long-term handicapped individuals.
  • Paul Reynolds Scholarship. Awarded to students with no restriction as to program of study. Financial need is considered.
  • Robert Roach Scholarship. Awarded to sophomores who have demonstrated a high level of achievement in academics, as well as in school and community activities.
  • William Roach Scholarship. Awarded to students with no restriction as to program of study.
  • Paul C. Sandy Scholarship. Awarded to one or more financially deserving students attending high schools in Muscatine, Louisa County, or Durant, and are pursuing a degree in engineering.
  • Pacia Sauer Memorial Scholarship. Awarded to a student who has earned 24 or more credit hours with a 3.0 GPA or better. Financial need is not considered.
  • Floyd Scott Memorial Scholarship. Awarded to students with financial need.
  • Ann C. Sissel Scholarship. Awarded to students who are interested in and appreciate literature, and are of good moral character.
  • Robert L. Smith Scholarship. Awarded to a student majoring in the science field with preference given to chemistry majors.
  • Stamler Scholarship. Awarded to a Muscatine High School senior. Selection is made by the high school. Application and deadline inquiries should be made to the Muscatine High School guidance office.
  • Ladd and Carol Steinmetz Scholarship. Awarded to a student majoring in music or art.
  • Mary Underdahl Memorial Scholarship. Awarded to a nontraditional student with preference given to GED graduates.
  • Volger-Romig Scholarship. Awarded to students who intend to have careers in electronic communications or broadcasting.
  • Howard and Charlotte Worst Scholarship. Awarded with no restriction as to program of study.
  • Maurice and Mary Young Scholarship. Four scholarships are given annually. Two awards are for students who intend to enter careers in economics and business.
  • Naomi Young Scholarship. Awarded to students with financial need.
