Portfolio of Life & Learning

Portfolio

Have you mastered the concepts, skills, and principles taught in EICC courses. Credit for the Portfolio is credit that is awarded based on learning that is gained through:

  • On-the-job training
  • Military experience
  • Volunteer work
  • Conventions and conferences
  • Continuing education courses
  • Recreational activities
  • Community services
  • Travel
  • Seminars and workshops
  • Training programs
  • Independent research
  • Awards, exhibits, and publications

A Portfolio is a written document detailing what you have learned. It demonstrates how that knowledge relates to and meets the requirements of the EICC course learning objectives. The goal of the Portfolio is to demonstrate how your learning experiences are equivalent to objectives taught in the EICC course.

 Oral Interview

The awarding of the Portfolio starts with an oral interview with Dean of Adult Education or designee. This can be done on the phone, via videoconference, or at one of the EICC campuses. During this interview, you will talk about your goals, what your experiences have been, and possible coursework for which you may receive credit.
