The Scott Community College (SCC) Foundation provides financial resources that support student scholarships and our college community.

The SCC Foundation is a nonprofit, tax exempt corporation that was established in 1985 to help assure educational excellence through charitable giving.

Each year the SCC Foundation receives generous gifts from the Scott Community College Foundation Board members, our faculty and staff members, area businesses and organizations, and many other friends. Some of these gifts enable us to offer scholarships to a number of our deserving students. Others help us acquire new instructional equipment or launch special projects.

In 2018, the SCC Foundation awarded approximately $156,500 in scholarships to more than 166 students. Our current goal is to increase our portfolio from $2.7 million to $9 million dollars – to provide every deserving student who applies the scholarship help they need to succeed.

The Scott Community College Foundation reaches out to help students at several locations in the Quad Cities including those at the Urban Campus, Blong Technology Center, West Davenport Center and its main Belmont Campus.

Each student has a unique story and a unique set of strengths and challenges. Our students are at many different points in their education and careers. Many students will juggle working or caring for their children while they attend college. Some students will begin classes with a clear career goal; others will discover their passion through their education. Despite all of those obstacles, they all share a desire to learn, master new skills, and to become better providers, employees, and members of the community.

As each student pursues their dream, they also strengthen our community. SCC educates and trains people to contribute to our future workforce needs - the greatest concern facing economic development in our region as the largest percentage of our trained workforce begin to retire. By supporting SCC students, we support our own communities, creating ongoing opportunities for all.

Through your support, the SCC Foundation supports the aspirations of our students and the growth of our community.
