Join the Horticulture Career Academy while you're still in high school. It’s free through EICC. The skills you learn are highly valued by landscape design companies, nurseries, and public parks departments and can lead to an entry-level position. After high school, keep going. Build on your knowledge and earn a Horticulture Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree in just over a year. This is a great way to advance your skills and your career, while saving time and money.

Landscape Designer
Design outdoor spaces by integrating aesthetics and functionality. Landscape designers work with clients to create beautiful and sustainable gardens, parks, and public spaces.
Greenhouse Manager
Oversee all aspects of greenhouse operations, ensuring optimal growing conditions for plants, managing staff, and coordinating plant care and sales.
Commercial Horticulturalist
Manage the large-scale production and marketing of plants and crops. Work in nurseries or horticultural companies, supplying plants to retailers and consumers.

Turfgrass Manager
Maintain sports fields, golf courses, public parks, and more, ensuring that the grass and landscaping are in peak condition. Turfgrass managers play a key role in managing turf health, pest control, and irrigation.
Hemp Production Specialist
Oversee the cultivation and harvesting of hemp crops, maintaining quality and adhering to regulatory standards for products like fiber, oils, and textiles. Specialists focus on sustainable practices and growing techniques to maximize yields and meet market demands.
