Muscatine Community College, an Eastern Iowa Community Colleges campus, is hosting two informational sessions on Thursday, April 28 at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. for anyone interested in pursuing nursing.

This is a great opportunity for those looking to explore career options, meet instructors, chat admissions requirements and identify academic success skills. Participants are encouraged to attend a session at the time that works best for them.

Both sessions will be held in-person at MCC’s Musser Building, 152 Colorado St, Muscatine, and online via Zoom. To join in virtually, simply follow the Zoom link at the designated date and time below:

The event is free and open to the public. On-site parking is available for all visitors.

The college offers two degree options, including an 11-month Practical Nursing (PN) Diploma and two-year Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Degree. With just one year of formal preparation in the PN program, students are academically qualified to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Practical Nursing. After completion of the ADN program, students are academically qualified to take the NCLEX for Registered Nursing.

Both programs are included in the Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship. This grant, available to Iowa residents, is an excellent funding opportunity that covers the cost of tuition. The program works simply. You file for financial aid and the state covers the remaining balance beyond the aid for which you are eligible. Even if you receive no federal or state aid, the program will pay your entire tuition.
