What You Learn in the Conservation Pathway
Study wildlife, trees and plants, and learn the basics of managing fisheries. Practice and build on your education during a summer wildlife experience and on-the-job training. You also check off a series of general education, like biology, chemistry, and math, which most four-year transfer colleges require. Complete your associate's with us and consider entering the Natural Resources Management accelerated track at Western Illinois University Quad Cities Riverfront Campus. Through this EICC pathway, you can earn a bachelor's in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration in as little as one year.
What Can I Do With a Career in Conservation?
Work on a County Conservation Board, for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, at state parks, and for non-profit organizations. You can manage forests, parks, rangelands, and other natural resources. Or work with landowners, governments, farmers, and others to improve land for forestry while also safeguarding the environment.
