TRIO Student Support Services is a federally funded grant program designed to promote academic and personal success for students facing educational, economic or cultural challenges. Our purpose is to provide support services that enhance the student’s ability to be successful in school, improve performance and increase self-confidence. The Student Support Services Department provides advising and tutoring to students who are first generation, have a documented learning or physical disability, or meet the federal low income guidelines. Graduation and transfer to a four-year institution is our goal.
TRIO Student Support Services assists students to:
- Strengthen academic skills necessary for college level course work through study groups
and workshops - Connect with cultural and social enrichment activities to find a sense of community
- Improve and maintain the grade point average necessary to achieve academic goals
- Graduate with an Associate’s degree and transfer to a four-year institution
TRIO Student Support Services provides the following services:

- Personal development workshops
- Leadership development
- Campus visits to four-year institutions
- Financial literacy
- Scholarship assistance
- Support center with computers
- FREE Strengthsfinder assessment
- Learning and study strategies inventory
- Assistance with life and classroom (time/stress management, work/school balance) success strategies

TRIO-Student Support Services is funded 100% ($287,796) by the U.S. Department of Education and serves 190 participants every academic year. All services are FREE!
