Services
Once you are accepted into TRIO, you can access to a variety of free services and activities. We ask you to meet with your advisor periodically throughout the academic year and attend at least one seminar/workshop per semester. Services include:
Your academic advisor sticks with you throughout your time in TRIO, and you meet with them often. They guide you in career exploration, help you register and select courses, tell you about college policies and expectations. They can also help with a job search, financial literacy, the financial aid application processes, and transfer planning.
Attend TRIO seminars, workshops, and group sessions on topics such as: career discovery, effective communication, financial literacy, financial aid, healthy living, resume building, stress and time management, study skills, test anxiety, transfer planning, and more. We ask you to attend at least one TRIO seminar or workshop each semester.
Planning to continue your education after your EICC graduation? Let us help make your transfer seamless and successful. Through TRIO, you also have the opportunity to explore your options as we visit a number of in-state colleges and universities.
Free, one-on-one peer tutoring is available in math, English, science, study skills, and special areas upon request.

Student guidelines for TRIO tutoring:
- Be on time for scheduled appointments
- Notify tutor at least 8 hours in advance if unable to keep an appointment
- Attempt homework prior to meeting with tutor
- Bring all necessary materials, including questions, to appointments
- Attend class regularly
- Keep tutor informed of your progress in the class

- Monday: 11:20 a.m. – 12:50 p.m.
- Tuesday: 10:20 a.m. – 12:50 p.m.
- Wednesday: 11:20 a.m. – 12:50 p.m.
- Friday: 10:20 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
In Person Math
- Monday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Tuesday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Wednesday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Thursday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
We'll help you explore careers, write a resume, prep for an interview, and share job search strategies.
In conjunction with the Financial Aid Office, we can help you complete your financial aid application. Staff and peer tutors are available to assist with scholarship applications. TRIO Grant Aid Scholarships are also provided to eligible students.
Eligibility
As a federally funded academic support program, TRIO is required to adhere to program regulations based upon the Higher Education Opportunity Act (formerly the Higher Education Act 1964).
- Must be at least a half-time student at Scott Community College
- Be a United States citizen or a legal resident of the United States
- Demonstrate academic need
- Must be a degree-seeking student enrolled in a program that leads to the award of a Diploma, Certificate, AA, AS, or AAS
- First Generation Student: If neither of your parents has earned a Bachelor’s degree, you are considered a first generation college student.
- Lower Household Income: Household income must meet the below federal income guidelines.
