Shelly Cram Rahlf, MCC’s Dean of Student Support Services, was recently honored as a 2025 Distinguished College Administrator by the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society.

The award recognizes administrators who work directly with student leaders to solve problems on campus and within their community.

“This award is special because it comes directly from the students and reflects their deep appreciation for leaders who go beyond administration—engaging with, supporting, and empowering students to have a more meaningful and successful college experience,” said PTK President and CEO Lynn Tincher-Ladner.

In all, 25 college administrators were recognized with the award during PTK’s national Catalyst Convention, held April 3-5, in Kansas City, Missouri. They were selected from among thousands who were eligible to receive the award.

At the same event, PTK also honored EICC’s incoming Chancellor, Bryan Renfro, PhD, with a Paragon Award for New Presidents. It recognizes the work he has done as president of John Wood Community College to support student success initiatives that lead to completion, transfer, and employment.

PTK recognizes academic achievement at associate degree-granting colleges and helps its members grow as scholars and leaders. There are nearly 1,250 chapters across 11 countries, with approximately 220,000 active members in the nation’s colleges.
